Far Horizon Group exists to put the tools people actually need at their fingertips — born in the cockpit, built by a working crewmember, priced like a tool instead of a platform, and designed so the technology never gets between you and the answer. Pilots were first; the same barrier stands in classrooms, boardrooms, and companies of every size — and we build for them too.
Why this company exists
Pilots shouldn’t need an IT department.
Every pilot carries the same stack of paperwork through a career: schedules, pay statements, logbooks, currencies, contracts. The information that matters is buried in systems that were never designed for the person in the seat — and the tools that promise to help are often expensive, complicated, or built by people who have never worked a trip.
Far Horizon Group started with a simpler idea: a working pilot who could build software decided to build the tools he wished existed. No enterprise sales pitch, no learning curve measured in weekends, no subscription stack that costs more than the problem. Import the paperwork you already have, and get answers you can act on.
That is the whole mission: take down the technology barrier, and put what pilots need at their fingertips at a price that respects a crewmember’s wallet.
The cockpit is where we discovered the problem — it isn’t where the problem ends. The same barrier stands between people and their information in every industry: useful answers locked behind clumsy systems and overpriced software. What began as tools for one pilot became Far Horizon Group the moment it was clear how many others — crews, classrooms, boardrooms, and companies of all sizes — are fighting the same fight.
The founder
Jason
Our job shouldn’t just be “doing the work” — it should be being involved in, and hopefully passionate about, what we do. Throughout my career as a military aviator, and now as a captain and instructor at a major U.S. airline, that has been my defining goal: enjoy my work and be passionate about what I do. That dedication to our country’s mission carried me through more than 1,300 combat hours across 167 combat sorties supporting OEF, OIF, and OIR — and, not satisfied with ending my service there, I’ve continued to mentor and support the next generation as a Reservist.
Continually striving to learn and improve, I found the opportunity to expand my own education and to teach essential aviation courses: graduate-level Crew Resource Management, aviation safety, and private pilot ground school. Staying current in the ever-changing landscape of CRM, threat and error management, and aviation safety keeps me sharp in everything else I do.
Far Horizon Group was born from these experiences and a desire to provide simple, easy, and effective solutions to the problems that plague pilots, airlines, boardrooms, and companies of all sizes. Proven cockpit and combat leadership paves the way — pragmatically and logically.
